Covid-19 positive cases continue to surge in Minnesota and in the St. Cloud area. CentraCare spokesman Dr. George Morris joined me on WJON today. He says even though they are seeing a surge of cases they are not at capacity at St. Cloud Hospital or within CentraCare.

CentraCare Spokesman Dr. George Morris joined me on WJON today. He says all of their locations within CentraCare are stressed and are seeing increases in Covid-19 positive cases in their facilities including St. Cloud Hospital. He says they have added 14 ICU beds at St. Cloud Hospital out of need and can add more if need be.

With nearly 3,000 new cases of COVID-19 reported in a single day, health officials are concerned about the stress the virus is putting on hospitals.

He says calling it a surge isn't meant to scare people but to accurately portray the situation they are dealing with.

CentraCare is offering a new service to help reduce wait times at their call center.

CentraCare is again changing their visitor policy at all of their facilities.

There may soon be another place for you to get tested for COVID-19.

Dr. Morris says they are still experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases both in St. Cloud Hospital and in the ICU. The amount of people with Covid-19 in the ICU still hasn't reached the levels of their peak in May.
