ISLE, Minn. (AP) - School district officials credit older students on a runaway bus with calming the younger children as the vehicle careened out of a control on a Minnesota highway.

The bus wove back and forth on Highway 47 in Aitkin County after the driver suffered from a medical emergency last Wednesday. One of the 11 students on the bus called 911. A sheriff's deputy followed the bus for about 14 minutes and drove into the oncoming lane with her emergency lights activated to warn approaching drivers.

The deputy's dash cam video shows an approaching driver on the highway putting the car in reverse and backing up to avoid a collision. The bus entered a snowy ditch, then swerved back on the highway.

A state trooper laid a tire deflation device on the road and the bus eventually stopped. No students were injured.
