GLENCOE  (AP) - Strong winds downed trees and power lines - and caused damage to at least one roof - as storms swept through the southwest metro area Thursday night.

National Weather Service meteorologist Jacob Beitlich says the storm brought hail and straight-line winds. Radar indicated circulation in Carver County shortly before 9 p.m., but there are no reports of a tornado.

There was a report that a roof was partially torn from a house near Glencoe. A McLeod County sheriff's dispatcher says there are also downed trees and power lines in the southern part of that county.

Rainfall ranging from 2 to 4 inches prompted a small stream flood advisory in parts of Carver and Wright counties.

Beitlich says the storm dissipated as it moved toward Minneapolis and St. Paul.

There were no reports of injuries.
