From The National Weather Service Office in Chanhassen:

The first of two storm systems will spread rain and patchy freezing rain into the area this morning, which will change to snow over west central Minnesota this afternoon.

Areas of freezing rain and sleet could spread east across central Minnesota this afternoon. Up to 6 inches of snow could fall over parts of west central Minnesota.

The second storm system on Friday, will take a similar track as today, toward southern Minnesota. This could bring additional heavy snow to west central Minnesota along with increasing northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph. winds. Areas to the east will see less snow, but there is also a threat of sleet and freezing rain which could cause some minor ice accumulations.
