State Patrol: Becker Man Falls Asleep, Rear-Ends Snowplow
BARNSVILLE - A Becker man was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after authorities say he fell asleep at the wheel and hit a snowplow.
The State Patrol says 54-year-old Robert Elkin of Becker was driving a van east on I94 near Barnsville. He fell asleep and rear-ended a MNDOT snowplow driven by 51-year-old Todd Meyer of Barnsville.
Elkin was taken by ambulance to Fargo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Meyer wasn't hurt in the incident.
The crash happened just before 7:00 a.m. Road conditions were described as icy at the time of the incident.
