St. Cloud Woman Pleads Guilty to Supplying Drug in Fatal Overdose
ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud woman has pleaded guilty to 3rd degree murder after a drug overdose last spring.
Amy Lauer was accused of giving the narcotic Fentanyl to Ryan Stirling Boen last April.
Stirling Boen was found unresponsive in a home in the 1000 block of 22nd Avenue North on April 20th. Court records show an autopsy determined the 33-year-old St. Cloud man had died of drug toxicity related to Fentanyl consumption.
Through their investigation, police say the 35-year-old Lauer illegally gave Stirling Boen the drugs.
Lauer will be sentenced February 17th and is expected to ask for a lighter sentence than state guidelines call for. The Stearns County Attorney's Office says they will ask for the guideline of just over seven years to be imposed.
