St. Cloud Man Charged With Stealing Running Car With Woman Inside
ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man is accused of stealing a running car with a woman inside, then leading police on a high speed chase.
Thirty-one-year-old Corey Stone is charged in Stearns County Court with theft and 5th degree assault.
Court records show a woman was inside a running car outside the Super 8 hotel in St. Cloud in the early morning hours of November 13th when a man got into the driver's seat and started to drive away. The woman noticed the driver was not her friend and pulled his hood down and tried to get him to stop.
Stone then allegedly pulled into the Diamond Vogel parking lot and pulled the woman out onto the pavement. He fled the scene and was later arrested in Sherburne County after allegedly leading authorities on high speed chase reaching 120 miles-per-hour.
Records show Stone crashed the car and was taken into custody on fleeing police and DUI.
He's scheduled to appear in Stearns County Court in April.
