The St. Cloud State men's basketball team has been practicing for the past few weeks.  I talked with the head coach Matt Reimer on WJON this week.  The Huskies have players from 7 different countries and 4 different states.

SCSU's roster is filled with new players including transfer Andrija Blatancic.  Prior to joining St. Cloud State, Blatancic played at Colorado Northwestern, Howard College and Academy of Arts University.  The 6-7 transfer goes by "Dre".  Another newcomer is 6'3 guard transfer Ilya Tyrtyshnik from the Ukraine.  Prior to joining St. Cloud State, Tyrtyshnik spent a year at Ole Miss and North Platte Community College.

The freshman class includes 6 true freshman and 1 redshirt freshman. The freshman class includes St. Cloud area guard Brandon Adelman from New London-Spicer. The Huskies depending greatly on seniors Gage Davis and Brindley Theisen last season but expect new players to take on larger roles this season.

SCSU in 2018-2019 were 22-9 overall and 16-6 in the NSIC.  The Huskies open the season Friday November 8 at 2:30pm in Searcy, Arkansas against Ouachita Baptist University.  Hear the game on AM 1390-Granite City Sports.
