SARTELL -- Sartell officials got their first look at what it would take financially to operate the proposed community center.

During tonight's (Monday) city council meeting the council received the first draft of expenses and revenue for the community center.

The draft has proposed expenses coming in just under $300,000 dollars and total revenues just over $100,000 for the first year of operation.

The current cost estimates are based on current amenities outlined in the plan, such as a outdoor pool, climbing wall and library, which is subject to change.

The construction of the community center would also increase property taxes just under $1/month on a $225,000 home in 2017 and about $2/month in 2018.

These numbers could decrease in 2018 as more revenue is brought in with the community centers first full year of operation.

No action was taken. Further operation expenses, revenues, programs and operation hours will be reevaluated as the project moves closer to construction.
