Waite Park -- Stearns County's Quarry Park and Nature Preserve added two new monuments to the park today (Thursday).

One of the sculptures is called, "Fata Morgana" which is Italian for complex mirage. It weighs about four-tons and had to be set in place with a crane near the park gate.

It was donated to the park by the St. Cloud Convention and Visitor's Bureau. The other monument is located next to the derrick.

It has laser etched text detailing its history in connection with the park. It was made with red granite found at at the quarry and donated by Monumental Sales.

Former Parks Director, Chuck Wocken says the monuments show another side to Quarry Park.

The parks department hopes the two art pieces will add to the parks culture.
