After the first event of the Crashed Ice season, Naasz is sitting in first place in the standings. After the event in St. Paul this weekend, it moves to Austria next week, followed by stops in Finland, Ireland, and Canada.

Crashed Ice is a downhill ice skating race, featuring four competitors at a time. Naasz says he can see the sport getting even more popular.

Red Bull foots the bill for the top three U.S. athletes. He's been competing on the tour since 2012.

Naasz has taken a leave of absence from SCSU for now, but he says he plans to come back to St. Cloud this fall to finish his degree.
