ST. JAMES, Minn. (AP) - A 19-year-old woman and her baby daughter were critically injured in a mobile home fire in southern Minnesota.

Crews were called to the fire in St. James at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning and found one end of the home engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to rescue Alexis Angel Liemthongsamout and her six-month-old daughter, Maddyson Murch.

The two were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, where they are in critical condition.

The fire apparently was electrical.

About 20 firefighters from the all-volunteer St. James Fire Department were called to the scene.

Assistant Fire Chief Bill Nelson told reported that the home is total loss.
