ST. CLOUD -- The 35th Annual Mayors Prayer Breakfast was held at the River's Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud this morning (Friday).

Their guest speaker was Mark Whiteacre, the inspiration for the 2009 motion picture, "The Informant" starring Matt Damon.

Whiteacre and his wife Ginger spoke to a crowd of people about their journey finding faith. Whiteacre was involved in one of the largest price-fixing schemes in the nation's history.

He served more than eight years in federal prison for embezzling more than $9-million.

Whiteacre says he's grateful for his time in prison because he believes he's a changed man. Ginger Whiteacre says the movie "The Informant" was hard for her to watch.

Mark Whiteacre says the motion picture doesn't show the redemption side of their story.

Today Mark Whiteacre is the COO and President of Cypress Systems incorporated--a company specializing in cancer research. The Whiteacres say their family is a good example of overcoming adversity.

The annual mayors prayer breakfast is sponsored by the Christian Business Men's Committee.
