Man Hospitalized After Being Run Over By Tractor

UPSALA -- A man was run over by a tractor Monday night near Upsala.

Morrison County Sheriff Shawn Larsen says the incident happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. at a home in Elmdale Township.

Larsen says 80-year-old Gerald Vornbrock of Burtrum was trying to start his tractor by hand with a hand crank and forgot it was in gear when it accelerated and ran him over. Vornbrock was not able to get out the tractor's way fast enough due to ice on the ground.

Larsen says the back wheel of the tractor ran over Vornbrock's pelvic area.

Vornbrock was taken to St. Gabriel's hospital with unknown injuries.
