Man Charged With Attacking Family With Multiple Weapons

RED WING-- Prosecutors have charged a Cannon Falls man who allegedly attacked his relatives with a variety of weapons with multiple counts of attempted murder.

35-year-old Lee David McNamara appeared Friday in Goodhue County District Court.

According to court documents, McNamara's father and cousin were in the yard of a rural Goodhue County residence on Monday working on a boat when McNamara shot an arrow into the boat, then fired another arrow at them. When he ran out of arrows, he started hitting his father with a baseball bat, calling both men devil worshippers.

The cousin swung the bow at McNamara, who picked up an ax and threw it at him. At some point McNamara allegedly stabbed his father in the back with a screwdriver.
