Local Art Studio Seeks Volunteers To Help With Empty Bowls Painting [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD -- A local art studio is looking for volunteers to help paint bowls for the annual Empty Bowls soup benefit dinner.

Art As You Like It is hoping to get enough volunteers to paint 500 bowls for the Place of Hope fundraiser.

The benefit is a way to raise awareness of hunger and homelessness in the community. Charlene Ridlon is the owner of Art As You Like It. She says they painted 50 bowls in their first year and it has grown since then.

Art As You Like It has been helping with the Empty Bowls benefit for nearly ten years. Guests who attend the benefit dinner get to take home a bowl that serves as a reminder of those who have empty bowls.

If you're interested in painting a bowl you are asked to make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. You can sign up now through March 15th.
