I remember making the move to junior high as both exciting and terrifying.

I was a country kid going to a school filled with "townies", which automatically meant I'd better know my place.

There were so many rooms and floors to try to remember which class was where, especially confusing to a kid who had 3 other students in his class in one of the last "country schools" in Minnesota.

Good thing I had my trusty new wristwatch to look at whenever I met one in the hallway!

The Lincoln students seemed so much more confident and ready to make the change than I remember being at that age.
