HOLDINGFORD - More than a third of the students in Holdingford are coming from outside the district. Superintendent Chris Swenson reviewed the open enrollment numbers at their recent school board meeting.

He says the district has 1,065 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Of those students, 376 of them open enroll from another district. The students come from several surrounding districts, including: St. Joseph, Sartell-St. Stephen, Sauk Rapids-Rice, and Upsala.

Meanwhile, 140 students open enroll out of the district, for a net gain of 236.

Swenson says open enrollment numbers have been on a steady rise in Holdingford for the past several years.

We told you last month that the Holdingford school board is in the process of planning for the future, and future growth, with a 10-year long-term facility maintenance program. They say space is becoming an issue for them.
