CAMP RIPLEY - Furloughs for some soldiers with the Minnesota National Guard will begin next week.

A little over 1,100 soldiers are subject to the furloughs, because of the sequestration by the federal government.

Technicians affected will be required to take one unpaid day off each week, for the next 11 weeks, from July 15th through the end of the fiscal year.

Lieutenant Colonel Jon Lovald says the Minnesota National Guard is required by law to follow the furlough policy.
