Fun Friday: Hiking at Quarry Park [VIDEO]

WAITE PARK - This week on our winter activities themed Fun Friday we decided to check out the hiking trails at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.

With County Parks Director Peter Theismann as our guide, we explored the four mile long hiking trails.

Quarry Park isn't just great for hiking but you can also enjoy fat tire biking and cross country skiing. The park is one of few in the area that has four miles of lighted cross country ski trails.

Theismann says the lighted trail resembles a candle light glow and brings a romantic atmosphere to the park.

Quarry Park opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes 30 minutes after sunset. For cross country skiing the park remains open until 10:00 p.m.
