Downpour Causes Street Flooding In St. Cloud
ST. CLOUD (AP) - Some cars became stalled in St. Cloud as heavy rains caused street flooding in parts of the city.
St. Cloud police Sgt. Lloyd Orth says officers had to deal with about 15 vehicles that stalled in high water Tuesday.
Orth says some water was as deep as two feet and in some instances went halfway up the doors on passenger cars.
Tow trucks removed the cars. No one was hurt.
The National Weather Service says the official rainfall total yesterday (Tuesday) was only a half-inch. Here at the radio station we measured an inch of rain. And at St. Cloud State University they had over 2.3 inches of rain between 4 and 5 p.m. I'm sure many of you probably recorded much more rain in your backyard.
