WAITE PARK (WJON News) -- A special claims clinic will take place on Thursday for veterans who have been exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, or other toxic substances.

Health and benefits administrators will be on hand along with county veteran service officers from Stearns, Sherburne, and Wright counties. It's a resource for vets who are seeking help with disability compensation claims related to toxic exposures and VA Health Care enrollment.

In addition, veterans will be able to get a toxic exposure screening, ask about existing claims, or file a claim.

The event will be held at the Stearns County Service Center in Waite Park on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments can also be made to reserve a spot by calling (320) 255-6340.

If possible, veterans should bring any and all correspondence about a claim and their DD-214 or discharge papers.
