ST. CLOUD - There are more homeless people than there are beds in the St. Cloud area shelters.  And, when there's extremely cold weather like what we're expecting, that could be a problem.

That's why Pastor Carol Smith of the Place of Hope Ministries started the "Church of the Week" program back in 2001.

Smith says the program, now in it's 12th year, operates from October 1st through the first week in March, seven days a week.

They give the people who come a meal at the Place of Hope, then bus them to one of the participating churches to sleep.  They're brought back to the Place of Hope for breakfast the next morning.

Eighteen churches rotate hosting the program, which averages 19-25 people a night.
