MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Bitter cold settles into Minnesota and Wisconsin with temperatures expected to stay below zero Thursday in many regions.

Here in St. Cloud we dipped down to an official low this morning of 15 below.

Some schools delayed classes 2 hours because of the bitter cold, including those in Bemidji, Montevideo, Park Rapids and Somerset, Wis.

The National Weather Service issued an extreme cold warning for most of Minnesota, where daytime highs may only reach 10 below to the north. Lows Thursday night were expected to drop to 25 below in the northeast.

A wind chill advisory was in effect for portions of western and central Wisconsin Thursday. A winter storm was expected to dump up to 7 inches of snow in southern Wisconsin Friday.
