ST. CLOUD -- A staff member of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Minnesota is being recognized for her dedication to kids.

Christine Kustelski is the Southside Unit Director and Friday will be inducted into the Youth Intervention Hall of Fame.

The honor is given by the Youth Intervention Programs Associations and recognizes leaders in their field for their commitment to youth.

Kustelski says while she appreciates the honor, it's nice to highlight the great work organizations across the country are doing.

The work the people in this building and in buildings across the county are doing can be challenging, but it's so rewarding. I think it's great we have the opportunity to showcase this.

Kustelski has worked for the Boys and Girls club since 1997 and has been the Southside Unit Director since 2002.

She says she loves working with kids and helping them reach their goals and dreams.

We want them to grow into the people they are meant to be. We want them to be a part of our community and help shape what our community is looking like.

The award will be given during the organizations annual meeting down in the Twin Cities.

Since the Hall of Fame started back in 1996, only 86 people have been inducted.
