Authorities Raid Alleged Pot Farm Near Freeport

FREEPORT - Investigators raided an alleged pot farm in Stearns County today (Tuesday).

The Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force used a search warrant at a home on County Road 11 in Millwood Township near Freeport at about 6:30 a.m.

They found the marijuana growing operation behind the farm buildings on the property owned by 51-year-old Trent Atkinson of Freeport. About 36 plants ranging in size from six-feet to 12 feet high were found in a fence.

The Stearns County Attorney's office will consider charges of 5th degree possession of a controled substance.
