Albany Man Pleads Guilty to Additional Domestic Abuse Charge
ST. CLOUD -- An Albany man has pleaded guilty to a domestic assault by strangulation charge in a case that has been ongoing for about two years.
Brian Andvik has pleaded guilty to the charge and will be sentenced at a later date.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident happened back in July 2009 when Andvik strangled his wife for up to 10 minutes. The woman told investigators she could not breathe and believed she was going to die.
Andvik is already serving jail time for previous convictions of assaults against his wife.
The final term of Andvik's sentence remains undetermined because he still has one charge against him still to be resolved. The 36-year-old Albany man faces one count of stalking-pattern of stalking conduct.
The Stearns County Attorney's office says that charge and sentencing issues will likely be addressed in December.
