2nd Deadly Shooting in St. Paul Neighborhood This Week
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Police in St. Paul are investigating a fatal shooting that happened just blocks away from a similar deadly crime the day before.
Authorities say they don't yet know whether the two shootings are related. The latest incident Thursday night happened as a group of people walked across a bridge in the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood. Police say one man in the group was shot, possibly by someone driving by. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wednesday evening a 37-year-old man was fatally shot during a vigil for a homicide victim.
Witnesses say Synika George James was trying to protect children at the vigil from gunfire coming from a vehicle when he was hit.
