14-Year-Old Girl Dies After Nicollet County Tractor Accident

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - A 14-year-old girl is dead after a tractor accident in Nicollet County.

A 16-year old boy of North Mankato was reportedly driving the tractor westbound on Highway 99 Thursday night with the girl as a passenger.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the boy hit a bump, lost control of the tractor and went into a ditch just after 10:40 p.m.

The girl, who lived in Mankato, was taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries. The boy was also taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
