The Twins lost 8-2 to the New York Yankees Wednesday in the final game of the 3-game series.  Sam Deduno left the game after 1 2/3 innings with eye irritation.  Deduno had no hits and no runs allowed with 2 strikeouts.  Alexi Casilla 2 hits and both Matt Carson and Pedro Florimon had 1 hit and 1 RBI.  Chris Dickerson hit a 2-run homerun and C.C. Sabathia threw 8 innings with 2 earned runs allowed to get the win.  Sabathia had 10 strikeouts.

Joe Mauer went 0-4 with 3 strikeouts against Sabathia.  Mauer is hitting .323 and is 4 points behind Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers.  The Twins are 65-91 and will begin a 3-game series against Detroit at 7:10 Friday night, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Lefthander Scott Diamond (12-8) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Max Scherzer (16-7) toes the rubber for the Tigers.
