Almost three years after the Verso Paper Mill fire in Sartell, a group of artists are getting closer to paying tribute to the mill, and its workers. Public art projects, using the paper mill's original pieces, are currently being built, and are set to go into Watab Park, and Val Smith Park this summer. The projects range from silhouettes of the mill, to park benches, and bike racks. Lead Artist Heidi Jeub tells us more about the project.

Very quietly, and with very little fanfare, a historic part of Sartell's skyline came tumbling down last (Wednesday). The old smoke stack at the former paper mill is now just a pile of rubble.

Canada-based manufacturer Edmonton Trailer has closed on a property deal for a 30,000 square-foot warehouse building that was formerly a part of the Verso Paper Mill in Sartell.

The Sartell City Council approved the splitting of the hydroelectric facilities from the former Verso Paper Mill property this evening (Wednesday).

Fire crews responded to a call to the site of the former Verso Paper Mill in Sartell this (Thursday) morning.

Demolition crews have begun the process of tearing down the former Verso Paper Mill site. Last month the Sartell City Council granted the new owners AIM Development a Interim Use Permit for the demo work.

Sartell Mayor Joe Perske, and the rest of the city council, approved the plans this (Thursday) evening to begin the demolition of the former Verso Paper Mill. Perske says the structure that has stood longer than the town itself will be missed.
