Foley officials have taken a big step forward during last (Tuesday) night's city council meeting in fixing a dangerous downtown intersection. For several months the city council has been working to make the intersection of 4th Avenue and Dewy Street safer for pedestrians and drivers.

A man was arrested in Mille Lacs County Monday morning after leading police on a chase that started in Foley. The chase started at about 8:20 a.m. on Highway 23 in Foley. Police attempted to stop 31-year-old Derek Stirn of St. James for having a stolen truck from Dirtwoods 2000 of Sauk Rapids.

New Life Church was hoping to start construction on their new building back in August, but do to poor soil conditions and extensive site preparation Pastor Jim Von Wald says they felt it was best to wait until Spring.

A task force group will meet tomorrow (Thursday) to come up with the framework on how to better shape downtown Foley. Early plans have begun to take shape at looking at the long range future of downtown Foley.
