FOLEY -- A task force group will meet tomorrow (Thursday) to come up with the framework on how to better shape downtown Foley.

Early plans have begun to take shape at looking at the long range future of downtown Foley.

"Right now we are in the issue identification stage and we are aware there are pedestrian items that we want to review," says Barbian.

City administrator Robert Barbian says a task force has been set up to come up with plans to make downtown safe for pedestrians, grow business and identify future problems.

"You want to draw in the residents and other commercial areas, so we are trying to link some connections to the downtown area," says Barbian.

He says during the task force meeting the group will come up with a game plan to be brought to a workshop discussion that will allow for community feedback and participation.

"It's a really good thing that the community is looking towards the future and have a say in how they want to see their downtown prosper for the future," says Barbian.

The workshop will take place on April 23rd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the intermediate middle school in Foley.
