Cathedral defeated Kimball 3-2 Thursday night in Waite Park. The Crusaders scored 3 in the first inning with CJ Jerzak and McKenna Buckentine driving in runs.
The Cathedral and ROCORi softball teams both lost in the consolation semifinals Thursday night in North Mankato at the state tournament. In Class AA Cathedral lost 4-1 to Maple Lake in the morning before falling 5-4 to Pipestone last night.
The Cathedral softball team is seeded 5th in the upcoming Class AA state tournament to be played this week in North Mankato. The Crusaders will play 4th seeded Maple Lake at 9 a.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals.
The Cathedral softball team has won 22 straight games after losing their first game of the year to Pierz. Cathedral head coach Todd Dingmann and the four senior captains joined me on WJON today. They are Katherine Bell, Rachel Dingmann, Kailee Falconer and Rachel Voit.
