ST. PAUL (AP) - St. Paul police have released the names of two officers involved in the fatal shooting of a man who allegedly attacked them.

Police said on Friday that Mark Grundhauser and Joseph Sandquist feared for their lives when the man came at them with a rock and ignored orders to stop.

Investigators are still working to identify the man who was killed on Thursday.

Police say that before the shooting, 911 callers had reported the man was acting aggressively, was bloody and was smashing car windows with a pipe.

Grundhauser and Sandquist have been St. Paul officers since 2012.
