St. Cloud Olympians Gearing-Up For Competitions

RIO DE JANEIRO - The first of this year's Olympians with ties to St. Cloud will start his competition tomorrow (Tuesday). Garrett Bender is a member of the USA Rugby team. He has two games tomorrow in pool play, against Argentina first at 11:00 a.m. and then against Brazil at 4:00 p.m. The U.S. will play Fiji on Wednesday. The medal games are on Thursday. Bender played football at St. Cloud State University, and was a member of the SCSU rugby club team.

Another former SCSU athlete, Heather Miller-Koch, begins her Olympic run in the Heptathlon on Friday.

And, St. Cloud native Alise Post will compete in BMX next Wednesday, August 17th.
