A St. Cloud man will do federal prison time for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

34-year-old Lyons Bynum was sentenced in federal court today (Friday) to 10 years behind bars.

His prior felonies include convictions in Stearns and Benton Counties for first-degree burglary in 1999, and controlled substance sales in 2002 and 2003.

Bynum was caught with the .357 caliber revolver back in July of 2009 and convicted last April.

As a felon, Bynum is prohibited from owning or carrying a gun.
