St. Cloud Man Accused of Assaulting Roommate with Golf Club

ST. CLOUD -- A 49-year-old man faces assault charges after police say he hit his roommate with a golf club.

The incident happened just after 5:15 p.m. Monday when the 35-year-old victim told police he was attacked by his roommate.

Officers responded to the scene in the 100 block of Wilson Avenue Southeast to find the suspect, Robert Shane in the yard. Shane allegedly got angry with the roommate and hit him in the neck and back with the club.

Shane is jailed in Benton County on suspicion of second degree assault.

The victim was not seriously hurt.
