St. Cloud Community Mourns Lives Lost in Orlando Shooting

ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud community gathered outside the Stearns County court house this (Sunday) evening to mourn those who lost their lives in the Orlando shooting.

Vigil organizer Justin Lewandowski says the gathering was used as a way to bring the community together and have a pieceful conversation.

"We wanted to make sure that folks in the LGBT community could come to talk about their feelings, to make sure we are having a safe conversation in our community and making sure people feel supported," says Lewandowski.

At least 50 people from the St. Cloud and LGBT community came out to vigil.

J.T. Boser of St. Cloud says the shooting in Orlando personally leaves her fearful for what could happen at other LGBT events.

"It makes me nervous when I'm not around for people that are close to me per se, if they go marching in a parade [or to other LGBT events] I'll worry about them and this [the Orlando shooting] makes it worse," says Boser.

50 people were killed and 53 were injured early Sunday morning at Pulse a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The shooting is known as the largest mass shooting in the U.S.
