The Twins lost 10-5 at home to the Kansas City Royals Wednesday night.  Ryan Doumit committed 3 errors in the 8th inning which helped lead to a 4-run inning for the Royals.  Kansas City scored 5 runs in the 5th inning.  P.J. Walters allowed 7 hits and 6 earned runs in 4 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-4.  Luke Hochevar threw 5 innings with 6 hits and 5 earned runs allowed to get the win.

The Twins are 59-84 and will host Kansas City in the final game of the 3-game series tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Righthander Liam Hendriks (0-7) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Luis Mendoza (7-9) toes the rubber for the Royals.

The Twins played without catcher Joe Mauer again.  Mauer has been out with back spasms.  Chris Parmelee missed another game with a groin injury.  Denard Span returned from the disabled list.  He had been out with a shoulder injury.
