Motorists Urged To Watch Out For MnDOT Night Crews

ROSEVILLE  (AP) - Minnesota motorists are being urged to keep an eye out for MnDOT crews doing nighttime maintenance this spring and summer.

Since April 27, there have been three collisions between motorists and MnDOT maintenance crews in the Twin Cities. In each instance a motorist rear-ended a MnDOT vehicle at night as crews swept sand and debris from roads.

Night maintenance work includes sweeping, guard rail repair, cable median barrier repair and pothole patching. Such work takes place across Minnesota and involves hundreds of employees.

Gov. Mark Dayton has proclaimed this week as Public Works Week in Minnesota.
