The Twins have the #2 overall pick in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft that takes place tonight at 6pm.  See it on the MLB Network.  Houston has the first pick and is expected to choose righthanded starting pitcher Mark Appel of Stanford.  The Twins will likely choose between high school outfield prospect Byron Buxton from Georgia and starting pitching prospect Kyle Zimmer from the University of San Francisco.

The Twins have 3 picks in the first 42 and put a lot of emphasis on doing well in this draft.  Twins General Manager Terry Ryan says "If we don't get any good players out of this draft then shame on us."
