EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say a 34-year-old man died while swimming laps in the Eden Prairie Community Center pool.

Police and paramedics were called about a medical emergency at the pool about 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Bystanders, community center employees and rescue workers tried to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

No lifeguards are on duty during adult swim hours.

Reports say the pool was reopened Friday after being inspected by the county.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating. The man's name and cause of death were not immediately released.
