ST. PAUL - A 20-year-old man is charged with fatally shooting a teenager in St. Paul in what police say was a gang feud.

Rayshon Brooks was charged Friday with two counts of crime committed for the benefit of a gang and two counts of second-degree murder.

Brooks is accused of fatally shooting 17-year-old John Broyles on March 5. It was St. Paul's first reported homicide of the year.

Broyles and his cousin were going to a motel party when a car driven by Brooks pulled up. The complaint says Broyles' cousin and Brooks are alleged members of opposing gangs.

Witnesses say Brooks chased Broyles and his cousin and returned fire after Broyles apparently fired a gun at him.

Broyles will be buried Sunday on his 18th birthday.
