MONTICELLO - A Maple Grove man was arrested on Saturday after allegedly fleeing police and having methamphetamine in his vehicle.

Becker Police say the incident happened just after 3:30 p.m. Police received a call reporting a vehicle that was traveling over 100 mph and weaving in and out of traffic.

Police found and tried to stop the vehicle at County Road 11 and Highway 10. The vehicle didn't stop and ran from police at speeds exceeding 100 mph while passing other vehicles on the shoulder of the road.

The vehicle entered Monticello when the driver stopped and tried to run from police on foot. Officers tracked down and arrested 31-year-old Christopher Bangs of Maple Grove.

Bangs was taken to Sherburne County Jail for felony fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, felony 5th degree possession of a controlled substance (Meth in the vehicle) and DUI.

No one was hurt during the chase.
