ST. CLOUD - A mysterious sign posted in the door of Konrad's Wine Bar on Tuesday has many in the community questioning if they're closing.

The sign reading "UNCLE" was posted on the store window and was shared on their Facebook Page. In a short phone conversation with WJON, owner Guy Sprenger says he originally thought the bar and bistro was closing. However, another opportunity came up and Sprenger says the location can still re-open with a new strategy or business model.

Sprenger says it's too early for him to share the specifics. For now, he encourages you to watch for updates on their Facebook page.

Konrad's specializes in a wide-variety of wines and cocktails. They opened last spring at 27 7th Avenue North, in the former home of Seven Elephants Coffee.

UPDATE 2:30 p.m. - A Facebook page has been set up called "Save Konrad's". Sprenger says on the page that this is likely the last chance for him to save the bar and bistro.

"51 Weeks into operation at Konrad's as a sole proprietor, I am finding myself struggling to keep my dream alive.  I am reaching out to the greater Saint Cloud community for help. I've seen too many small businesses close their doors without asking the community for support."

The page links to a Go Fund Me account. Spenger goes on to say his "miracle goal" is $150,000 to catch up vendors/creditors and "guarantee a future."

The Go Fund Me campaign goes for 15 days, due to expiring lease and liquor license at the end of June.
