MUSIC IN YOUR HEART

How many of us have fond memories of being in a band or choir during our school years? Perhaps you are like me, and you still have that old Bundy flute hiding in the deepest darkest corner of your closet.

If you are 14 or older, it's time to dig out your old instrument, clean it up, and jump back in the game for some fun with like-minded people. Whether you're from St. Cloud, Sartell, St. Joe, Sauk Rapids, or a surrounding city, everyone is invited to participate in this exciting new program.

MUSICIANS COLLECTIVE

The Sauk Rapids-Rice area Musicians Collective is a startup community musical organization located in Sauk Rapids, that aims to give central Minnesotans a chance to perform in both a community band and a community choir for public concerts. It is meant to be a stress-free organization, where everyone can come and share their love of music.

I had the opportunity to speak with Ryan and his son Colin Kissinger about this great opportunity. You can listen to the interview by clicking on the player below.

CAN I JOIN?

You DO NOT have to be from Sauk Rapids. There is NO audition process. It's allowing everyone to make new friends and join this group.

They know that people are busy, so depending on what you want to be involved in, whether it's choir or band, rehearsals are just once every two weeks. So if you want to be in BOTH, you will come once a week. The band and choir rehearsals are opposite weeks.

IS THERE A COST?

There's no fee to join either! They are looking for Vocal musicians, Instrument musicians, even non-musicians who would like to be part of the group as support are invited to come. There is always a place for you as well, whether it be on the tech side, creating programs, or helping at concerts.

Soloists, small ensembles like duets, trios, quartets and stringed musicians, percussionists, and even family music groups are welcome to join.
