Gottwalt: New Technology Would Save State Money [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD - When Republican lawmakers rolled out their agenda for the upcoming state legislative session yesterday (Thursday), one of the areas they targeted was stricter requirements for people on public assistance.
State Representative Steve Gottwalt of St. Cloud says what they're specifically talking about is using technology to red flag people who might be taking advantage of the system.
Gottwalt says Republicans are also hoping to use new technology as a way to replace retiring state workers, resulting in public payroll cuts.
