Deputies Investigating Identity Theft Cases in Todd County

TODD COUNTY -- Authorities say they are investigating a large number of identity theft complaints received this month.

The Todd County Sheriff's Offices says they have received numerous complaints of people attempting to e-file their income taxes, only to learn someone has already filed them using their social security number.

Deputies says this is a form of identity theft and fraud.

Authorities say if you have been a victim of this type of fraud, to report it to law enforcement so a report can be made as soon as possible.

Deputies say there are many forms for the IRS that need to be completed in this situation.
