ST. CLOUD -- A home decor store is set to move into downtown St. Cloud next month.

Copper Pony specializes in re-purposed, new and locally made home decor. The business started in St. Cloud as the occasional store, Tattered. Tattered eventually moved to Clearwater and was re-branded as the Copper Pony.

Owner Josh Hoffman says he and his co-owner originally didn't want to move the store to downtown St. Cloud.

"So we were looking at smaller towns, Annandale, Clearwater and things weren't working out. As much as I hate to say everything happens for a reason, I think it did happen for a reason. We gave up on the searches in other towns and we were like let's go look at St. Cloud. We went downtown and the spot we're moving into had a for lease sign on it. It was like the lights were shining, it was meant to be."

Hoffman says the store will offer items for someone on a tight budget as well as someone that has a little more to spend.

"There's going to be a price point for everyone. So every customer that walks in can buy something and feel good about their purchase. Whether that is a college student on a very limited budget or someone that has disposable income."

The store will feature home decor items such as furniture, wall art, candles, knickknacks and pillows. It will also have pieces for entertaining including serving utensils, glasses, cook books and some gourmet foods as well.

Hoffman says his goal is to have the store up and running before the fishing opener weekend.

Copper Pony will be open at 710 West St. Germain Street, across the street from Bumbledee's. Store hours will be Tuesday-Friday 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
